Eric Davis, 1979-2003, Columbia

Eric Davis, 24, of Columbia, died Sunday, Nov. 30, 2003, at University Hospital in Columbia. He died of injuries suffered in an automobile accident that occurred in Howard County.

He was born April 18, 1979, in Columbia, a son of Allison E. and Sharon K. Davis.

Mr. Davis attended Sedalia Middle School, Rock Bridge High School, Central Methodist College in Fayette and the University of Missouri-Columbia. He was a dedicated scholar and Christian.

After a near fatal accident at the age of 11 at the Missouri State Fair, he recovered with faith, determination and a desire to overcome. He was planning to start his own business. His real passion was to get involved in politics. He was planning to marry his fiancée, a law student from Thailand who was attending MU, after Christmas.

Surviving are his parents; his stepfather, Willis Jabas, of Sedalia; his fiancée, Pattarinee "Patty" Sundrarajun; a brother, Gregg Woods, of Columbia; and three sisters, Paula Mize and Lisa Renfrow, both of Boonville, and Kim Rose, of Columbia.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church in Boonville, with the Rev. Dr. Doyle Sager officiating. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery in New Franklin. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at Memorial Funeral Home in Columbia.
